Preparing for the Long Haul!

Hi there!

'The desperate need for today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.' (Richard Foster)

In Paul's second letter to Timothy he was able to say shortly before his death: 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.' The race he was talking about was not a sprint but a marathon, run through years of obedience and adventure, miracles and persecution.

Maybe we have asked the question of why or how we, like Paul, can ensure that we keep running strongly for Jesus all the rest of our days?

Through the next couple of months at New River Church, Islington we shall be looking at opportunities for us to go deep in our Journey with Jesus  through undertaking spiritual disciplines such as prayer, fasting, worship, meditation and study. We'd love you to join us on the journey!
