Cell Notes on Baptism

Word

Objective: gain a Biblical understanding of baptism and to live in the reality of that death, cleansing and new life every day. We rushed through a bunch of Bible references on Sunday and cell this week is a chance to thoughtfully revisit them whilst sharing honestly how you're doing in your faith today.

Baptism in the First Century Church:

Q. What reasons do we find in the Bible for baptizing people?

[Readings: Mark 1:9-11; John 3:22-26; Mark 10:38-39; Matt 28:19,20; Acts 2:38-41, Acts 10:48, Acts 26:18; Gal 3:26,27; (and, if time Acts 16 - baptisms in Philippi)]

[In groups of 3 or 4]

What memories, scriptures or prophetic words do you retain from your baptism?

Baptism signifies the drowning of the old man and the new birth of the new man - how have you done at living out of this reality over the past couple of weeks?

Pray for one another...

Witness

What opportunities exist for you over the coming couple of weeks to build relationships with unchurched people?

Pray together for God's help to grasp these opportunities and to witness for Jesus in words, works and wonders.
